We had our first big thunderstorm of the season roll through on Wednesday afternoon.
It brought with it 3000 lightning strikes, 20 fires (all of which were put out), and some gorgeous thunderclouds. After the storm passed, we had these ominous looking dark clouds hanging over us. Later in the evening, when the sun was setting, they turned into the most gorgeous shade of pink.
Now we just hope there were no “sleeper” fires created that smolder for a few days before erupting into a major fire.
Maralee

Beautiful if not dangerous Maralee. Where were you?
This was from my front yard. We were fine. We didn’t get any lightning from these clouds – the storm had already passed.
Impressive but alarming weather.
Those sorts of skies are always such a combination of marvelous and spooky. We had what looked like a lovely pink sunset last night, but I missed it.
Beautiful images, Maralee! We got some rain here in the Old Pueblo. In fact I got out of my car and just stood in it for a while. Got soaked and it was just awesome 🙂
Fantastic shots! It looks very dramatic.
I love those sorts of clouds.. They are so impressive. Beautiful shots 🙂
