On our way home from Portland last week we took a short rest stop at the Peter Skene Ogden State Scenic Overlook.
It’s a wonderful spot to take a break, have a packed lunch, or just stretch your legs. It has a great view of the Crooked River Canyon 300 feet below.

Very beautiful image
Thank you very much.
Nice photos; the bridge looks like a smaller version of a bridge spanning the Rio Grande in New Mexico, including the 300 foot drop to the river.
Thanks. Apparently this was the site of a notorious murder. The woman who committed the murder was the only woman in Oregon to ever be put on death row. I don’t know what happened to her . . . I just read a blurb about it on Wikipedia.
I get dizzy only looking at this bridge … so scared of heights – amazing images, Maralee.
I’m afraid of heights too. I couldn’t go to the edge to look down. It gives me the shivers just thinking about it.
We are not going .. there, when I know I can survive if I fall .. I so scared – but never scared if I’m so high I can’t see the ground. Glad I’m not alone in the club. *smile
Nice pictures, thank you for posting them.
Thank you.
Good bridge.
That’s a train track going over that bridge. I’d hoped a train might happen by, but no such luck.
That would have been the icing on the cake.
I love these photos… wonderful captures…
Thank you, Rob.
