  1. You sent me down memory lane. I started with a Brownie when I was in single digits, but I think I’m with you that the passion didn’t start until the first Pentax SLR back in the early 80s. Can’t do a pic of it since I gave it to one of the kids.

    1. A Brownie was my first camera. I think I got it when I was in 7th or 8th grade. I just know it went everywhere with me. But my Nikkormat was my first SLR. I still have it – more for nostalgia now than anything. It still works though.

      1. Us newcomers to photography in the digital age are sometimes made to feel a bit uncomfortable about not having done real photography with chemicals in a shed.

  2. I wish I still had my 5″x4″ Technical MPP camera. Like a lot of things in life we abandon them and move on and only later realise we have lost something irreplaceable. Nice image and reminds one of just how soon we forget the ‘joy’ of replacing the cassette every 36 shots!
