Meet Misty . . . or O.C. (office cat) . . . or Jury or Prudence (short for Juris Prudence) . . . or Lucky (she’s one lucky kitty).
A few weeks ago, this little girl showed up outside our office. We thought she belonged to someone in the apartment building next door to us. But when she kept returning and didn’t leave, we figured she was a stray – a very friendly stray.

We started feeding her, made a shelter for her and tried finding her a home. We found someone who was willing to take her and give her a good home, but we wanted to make sure she was healthy before giving her to someone who already had a couple of kitties at home.
I took her to the vet and lo and behold, she had a microchip. But the “owners” had disconnected their phones and couldn’t be reached. None of the local agencies had anyone looking for a kitty that fit her description. It makes by blood boil when someone abandons a pet and leaves it outside to fend for itself thinking someone will find it and take care of it. Most times they don’t.
Anyway, by this time, we had all fallen in love with her and didn’t want to see her go. So, ultimately we decided to adopt her as our office kitty. We haven’t settled on a name yet but that will come. In the meantime, she has a warm, safe, loving new home.
From the vet we found out that she’s about 5 years old, weighs 7.7 pounds and is healthy. She’s now been vaccinated and ready to be loved by everyone here.

This just made my day!
Thanks so much. We are all very happy to have her.
Lucky kitty lucky you. A win-win. I adore happy endings. I vote to name her Fiona (shrek)because she is a fairy-tale princess with spunk)!
I’ll put that name in the hat. 🙂
She’s a beauty! And still a little bit sceptical, if I interprete her countenance correct… Not really surprising, when I think about what happened to her…
That was a very philantrophic act from you and your collegues! A warm hug over the Atlantic! 🙂
A occasionally be photographed I expect.

Such a lucky and gorgeous kitty indeed. I like Juris Prudence for a name. Pru for short, though your use of Jury works, too.
