Took another walk at the park today . . . still enjoying the incredible autumn we’re having. The squirrels in the park generally avoid people as much as possible and this one climbed the tree when he saw me.
But he stopped to eat and I think he thought I couldn’t see him any more.
The water in Mirror pond is extremely low but there was enough for this goose to swim around.

Looks like it was an enjoyable walk! We’re having lovely warm autumn weather here, too. I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can this weekend 🙂
We’re supposed to have great weather this weekend and there are a number of events going on so I’m hoping to get out and enjoy it as much as possible.
That’s a healthy-looking squirrel. Prepared for the winter, no doubt.
I hope it’s not an indication of a bad winter. I’m not ready to deal with snow quite yet.
What’s a “bad” winter?
It’s a wonderful time, where the drab and dull landscape is transformed, as if by magical moisture, into the stuff of fairy tales. Icicles, fluffy adornments to the evergreens, and most of man’s ugly scars on the natural beauty of the land is covered by a peaceful blanket of pure delight.
Besides, you need the moisture.
A “bad” year is when the snow is so bad I can’t get out and drive comfortably. Or get out of town when I want to go on a trip which I am planning on doing next month. I love the snow on the mountain and I always like the first fresh snow in town. But once it gets icy and difficult to drive, I don’t like it any more.
Picky, picky, picky.
You do have the nicest of places for a quick walk… brilliant photos… just love the little squirrel…
I like the little squirrels too.
I was excited to see a black squirrel in my yard, we don’t see them very often.
Beautiful image.
Dear Maralee, all photographs are so nice but especially this squirrel fascinated me. Wonderful moment and composition you captured. Thank you, have a nice weekend, love, nia
Such fun stuff for your walks. I’m totally with you about snow. Had more than enough of it in my early days.
Lovely images, Maralee, and the colours are striking.
Great captures, Maralee 🙂 lovely light in these, especially the last two.
Love the squirrel, he was really enjoying his meal.
