Weekly Challenge . . . Love

Instead of posting a bunch of photos, I chose to post a short video I made after our dog, Nicky, passed away.  He was a part of our lives for 16 years and a faithful friend and companion.

When our cat, Pia, came into our lives, they became best of friends.  They were inseparable.  They ate together, slept together, and just enjoyed each other’s company.  I really believe they loved each other as much as we loved them.

I apologize for the quality of this video.  The original was lost when my computer crashed a few years ago and I only had this copy which had been sized-down for email.

The music is by Hawaiian artist extraordinaire,  Keali’i Reichel.

I hope you enjoy.

  1. Thanks, Carissa. When I made the video, it was very cathartic for me. I went for a long time after Nicky passed before I could even look at photos of him. But in doing this project, it brought back all the joy we had. Pia is still with us . . . 14 years old and queen of the house.

  2. There is no love like that of a dog for its owner… no matter how you feel what mood you’re in or if you shout and cry… the dog always loves you… nothing like a dog;s love… loved this post…

  3. A lovely video and such a sweet dog. Thanks for sharing this with us. Our pets really do become such an important part of our lives. I would imagine Pia missed Nicky as much as you did judging by how close they were.

    1. After we lost Nicky, we got another cat for company with Pia (wrong move). They hated each other from day one. They still hiss at each other whenever they pass each other. And unbeknownst to us, the cat we adopted was pregnant and a week later had kittens. So now we have a house full of cats. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you
