I wanted so badly to find some signs that spring might actually arrive here this year. After a white-out snowfall yesterday, temperatures in the teens to 30’s today, and a forecast of more snow tonight, I began to think that spring might pass us by this year.

So, tonight I went into my back yard to find whatever I could to reassure me that we would actually have a spring. I found this little purple flower on a vine and a dandelion in our front yard. In the back yard I found a bud on a rhododendron.

There was also a lot of dead stuff from last year that I’ll have to start cleaning up soon. I think I’ll wait until spring arrives . . . tomorrow.
I should be used to the fact that spring on the high desert usually comes late. Most years we get a final big snowfall in early April. If I recall, spring usually arrives around June 19th, just in time for summer.

You really are talented, I am so impressed. But I must say, your most impressive shots are of flora, in my opinion. Truly remarkable!
Thanks so much. I’m enjoying taking flower photos. I haven’t done much of that in the past. I can’t wait for spring to get all of the new colors and flowers. If we ever get spring here.
The little blue flower looks like Myrtle. It sounds like you and I live in the same sort of climate. High desert. Short growing season. Short to non-existent spring!
I think our climates are very similar. You’re probably getting snow today too. Here on the high desert, I think spring is my least favorite season just because its so unpredictable.
Thanks for bringing spring in for my breakfast – agree with “drunken cyclist” – you’re talent. My favorite it the nameless – little dry thing – it’s so sharp. Have a good Tuesday.
Spring will come – in her own time, when she’s ready. (I do think she’s a woman, as she’s very willful and takes her time preparing for her grand entrance! ) But I can understand your impatience after a long winter. 🙂 Love the little blue flower! 🙂
I know it will come. I always get a little anxious after winter wanting the warmer spring. We have a winter storm warning here today. Yay. I agree, I think spring is a woman.
