The flickers have been busy drilling holes into the sides of this tree. There were two of them working in this tree on the day I walked by. Maralee
Hairy Woodpecker
This bird showed up in my back yard yesterday. I'd never seen it before and was very excited to see it. I had to use a high ISO and I was a fair distance away so the shots are a bit grainy. I hope it comes back. Maralee

A beautiful Northern Flicker Woodpecker. I came across this flicker on my walk this week. It was at the same hole, two days in a row. It made quite a nice hole, too. They are such interesting, beautiful birds. Maralee
