Northern Flicker – Day 46 – A Year of Wildlife

Northern Flicker – Day 24 – A Year of Wildlife
This beautiful bird was sitting in a tree outside my office window. The Northern Flicker is a fairly large woodpecker and are quite common in our area. They have a very distinct "voice" and you can hear them from a fair distance away.

The starlings and the northern flickers have been chasing each other away in order to get to my suet feeders. Maralee
