I didn't notice the bee/wasp/hornet in the flower until I processed the photo. It was taken with a 300mm lens so I was a fair distance away. Maralee

Thistle and Fly that Looks Like a Bee
My thistle plants are about 5' tall right now and starting to go to seed. But a few are still flowering and the bees are still coming around. Fall is on its way . . . it was 34 degrees this morning. Brrrr. Maralee
Bee – last of the season
This bee was crawling on a comforter I had on my front porch. He wasn't moving much - it was a bit chilly. I would have preferred if he had been sitting on a better background, but I didn't want to attempt to move him. Maralee
