I seem to be running out of time to take photos these days. I’m a huge fan of the Olympics and between work, photos and Olympics, there’s not much time to spare. So on my lunch hour today I went home to photograph a single cone flower that is growing in our garden.
I noticed it yesterday and love the colors and textures of the center. I tried to use other flowers in the garden as a blurred background. I’m going to try get seeds from this to grow more next spring.

I love it!
Thank you, Judy. I’m missing GM just about now. Do you get back there very often?
Nice! I hear you about the Olympics. I have been staying up far too late! But hey, it’s just once every four years, right?
That’s how I look at it. Still, getting up in the morning to get ready for work is difficult these days. 🙂
This is so beautiful!
Thank you, Inga.
Wonderful … love the colors in all those photos – top photo my pick … glad that somebody is watching the Olympic instead of me. *smile
Thanks, Vivkea. I loved the colors of the center. It changed with the direction of the light.
Yes, I see this now … missed that completely. Sorry …
These are magnificent photos… I’m glad you slipped home at lunch time… we might have missed these…
Thank you so much, John. Mid-day light isn’t always the easiest to work with, but I managed okay.
You managed marvelously…
These images are really beautiful, Maralee. :0
Thank you, Mike.
that is a cool flower on the up close pictures
Thank you, Tammy. I appreciate your comments.
Love the photos, but what struck me was the little bug, I think it needed a smaller corsage. 😉
Thank you, Shez. I was fortunate the the little bug stayed put for a couple of second. It hopped off right after I took the photo.
I really love this! The 2nd one is my fave, but they’re all beautiful! I know what you mean about not having time between work, olympics, etc. – same here! 🙂
Thanks, Zelmare. I think after the Olympics are over, I’ll be just about as exhausted as some of the athletes. 🙂
